Problem
A reaction paper means a philosophical reflection or personal evaluation on the topics covered from Unit I to Unit III although the focus of the paper would be Plato's philosophy. Kindly check the criteria for assessing your paper as posted in the syllabus. You can limit your reaction paper or just simply three paragraphs or roughly one or two pages. To help you start up your reaction paper, an essay on Plato's Philosophy in general, read first the following sources: The Republic on pp 173-178, Phaedo on pp. 210-223 and the attached article. Considering your resourcefulness (use of citations from credible sources) and creativity, you must include the following points in building your essay:
A. How Plato's Philosophy was influenced by the Pre-Socratics, Sophists, Socrates' views (this can serve as brief introduction of your essay and a summary of Unit I-III)
B. Explain Plato's Philosophy by focusing on the literal meaning and the message of Allegory of the Cave and Theory of Forms.
C. You can discuss any of the following topics of Plato's philosophy: importance of soul/reason, ethics, theory of knowledge, metaphysics, political philosophy, etc.
D. What philosophical insights can you derive from Plato's Philosophy especially from the Allegory of the Cave and the Phaedo?
