In the next homework, you will start to conduct your research study. We conduct research studies to expand our knowledge on how human behavior in the world is evolving. To conduct an effective study, we need to understand theories of development as they relate to our current environment and society.
The first step, however, is to create a research proposal that provides the detailed plan for your study. Be sure to use the Research Proposal Template, as it provides context and wording that you should use to help you clearly explain your main points. By using the template, you will cover all of the points below.
1) Insert your revised literature review in the Literature Review section in the template.
2) Operationally define the variables that you are using in your study.
3) State your hypothesis for your study.
4) Report on the method you will use to sample your participants.
a. You may want to look at the GSS website to see how participants were found.
b. Use your notes from the media piece to guide your sampling method selection.
5) Explain the method you will use to collect and analyze your data.

6) Choose the measurement that matches your study.
a. Review the template for suggested language.
7) Discuss how the measurement increases the reliability and validity of the study.
8) Explain your procedure based on research design you chose.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
