It's all in the "The Prince" part.
1. What is Machiavelli's approach to human nature? How does Machiavelli's portrayal of human nature differ (if it does) from that of the classical thinkers we have discussed? Is the nature of prince different than that of the average pig farmer?
2. Explain Machiavelli's attitude toward religion. How important is religious faith to Machiavelli? What uses does it serve?
3. In what ways is Fortune "a woman" as Machiavelli claims? What is Machiavelli's advice to the prince with regard to Fortune. Do you agree or disagree with his characterization? Explain your answer.
4. What is it about Machiavelli's The Prince that makes it, at least according to him, a wholly "new science"?
