Explain how you interact with political information

Problem

You are required to answer the questions to the group discussion thread in a scholarly manner - that means, as related to the text and other academic sources, but you are also required to include your opinions and thoughts on the nature of the American Free Press: protected by the First Amendment, supported by our capitalist norms and markets, while everchanging and fluid with technology, and as such the process for our interactions and methods of consuming this evolving product.

Knowing that the media is a product, and as such is allowed to lie to us, allowed to have a policy and political agenda, often is a profit driven enterprise, and has undue access and influence on the electorate, also knowing we receive substantially different messages than or neighbors, AS THE EXPERT, what do you think about how we interact with the news cycle (NEW MEDIA models), via social media, self-selected content, the citizen journalist - should we be concerned with the state of the American media as a function of our democratic values (APC) as it relates to what/how we consume.

Don't forget to explain how you interact with political information and if you think it poses any issues for your democratic norms...or is this just a "get of my lawn" concern?
