Problem
Students think summaries are necessary when reviewing things like movies or books. When writing reviews, only 1-2 sentences of summary are required. Do not give your readers a play-by-play of everything that happens. Instead offers specific reasons why you enjoyed or didn't enjoy something. Reviews, must be 200 to 300 words and may cover, but are not limited to:
1) Movies
2) Television show or series
3) Books
4) Short stories
5) Poetry
6) Cultural events you physically attend such as plays, symphonies, operas, museum exhibits, etc
For review- Provide essential information, Understand your audience, Take a stand, Explain how you're judging the work, Introduce evidence to support your criteria, Know the conventions of the genre, Compare and contrast, Do not summarize the entire plot.
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
