The purpose of this lab is to calculate what percentage of Alka-Seltzer tablet is lost in the bubbles by measuring the volume of gas formed.
Equipment: bottle, eudiometer, funnel, balance, thermometer, barometer, etc. we are supposed to design our own procedure while considering:
1. Explain how much alka-seltzer should be used so that volume of gas is sufficient to equalize the pressure?
2. Explain how will you get the Alka-seltzer under water and to the mouth of the eudiometers that none of the gas is lost?
3. Explain what do you have to do with the tube to assure equal pressure? After you have collected the gas, how do you know the pressure inside equals the pressure outside?
