Refer to the case of Latrell at the beginning of the chapter. Explain "how" he met criteria for PTSD by aligning his symptoms with the information in the DSM-5 Checklist in Table 6.1. Then, summarize the information from the chapter on how ONE of the following areas increase risk for PTSD:
(1) Brain-body stress routes
(2) Brain's stress circuit
(3) Inherited predisposition
(4) Childhood experiences
(5) Cognitive factors and coping styles
(6) Social support systems
(7) Severity and nature of the trauma
Then, respond to two peers. In your response, highlight are at least two key points from a different area (from the areas above) and ask your peer a knowledge-based question about their response (not just a question about their opinion) to keep the discussion going.
