You can refer to this forum for additional project information and resources as you work on the project in future units.
Discussion Introduction
Culture is defined as a ""set of values, beliefs, rules and institutions held by a specific group of people."" (Wild & Wild, 2014, p.42). Culture can differ significantly from one country to another and from one people to another. A country's location and geography can influence culture. A country's or people's culture involves language, customs, attitudes, manners, mannerisms, religion, personal communication, and aesthetics.
Business involves people, and people from different cultures respond differently to business situations. Culture affects the products sold in the country, how the country markets products to its people, human resource practices, hiring practices, and innovation. If we, or any company or organization, are to compete successfully in an international environment, we must develop market entry strategies and understand the culture of that particular country or countries where we wish to operate. We must develop a cultural literacy, identify the components of their culture and understand how these components will impact international business.

Choose a country or nation from the list provided below. For this discussion you will need to prepare a summary about this country. If you or a member of your family is not from the USA, then you may not use the country from where you or a family member originated. Your summary must contain the following information:
•Provide a few facts about this country: land area, population, population density, topography, climate, natural resources.
•What language(s) are spoken?
•What religions are practiced?
•What ethnicities reside in the nation? Are there any subcultures?
•What does this country produce? What are the natural resources?
•Explain how the physical environment influences the culture.
•Describe the education system and the nation's social culture.
•What evidence of globalization exists in this nation's business environment?
Your summary must be based on research. You must use the ECPI Online Library for your research. Remember that wikis and blogs are not credible resources. Cite your text using APA format.
When you reply to your classmates, evaluate the international business'" climate of that particular country based on the information and summaries provided. Explore the products or business ventures that may be possible in this country? What might not be possible?
