There has been concern over the environment/weather for a number of years especially in Europe where pollution and recycling are taken very seriously (see what Germany, Belgium and other countries are doing) However, the US has been accused of being the BIG POLLUTER and now the emerging economic powers of China, India and others have been accused of being concerned with economic growth without concern for people.
