In DSM-V significant changes are being proposed to revise diagnostic categories, add new childhood disorders, and incorporate developmental manifestations into the criteria for existing mental disorders. In this paper you are to select ONE disorder (e.g. schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc) and examine proposed changes to the diagnosis for DSM-V. This include changes that have been made in existing diagnosis and disorders that are being considered for inclusion in DSM-V that does not currently exist in DSM-IV TR.
The paper should written in APA style (12 font size, 1 inch margin, double spaced, proper citation and etc) with a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 (typed, double spaced) pages with minimum of 5 references.
The paper should include:
A) Literature review of the disorder
B) A general description of the proposed changes for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) or rationale for inclusion in DSM-V
C) Review of the literature and the studies that support these proposed changes Your personal critique of the literature and areas where research may be lacking or areas of controversy identified in the literature
D) Cultural considerations to the disorders (e.g. race, ethnicity, gender, age).
