Explain biochemical mediators of calcium metabolism
Bone physiology is controlled by an interaction of mechanical and metabolic factors. Under physiologic circumstances, bone formation is primarily regulated by functional loading (peak strains). The biochemical mediators of calcium metabolism ( Parathyroid hormone, estrogen, vitamin D) predominate in control of bone resorption.
