Explain attention-need-satisfaction-visualization and action

Persuasion techniques are normally associated with sales. However, they can be used in just about any interview where you want your interviewee to do something you want them to do. The Monroe motivation technique is the most common form of persuasion used in interviews. It consists of five steps that include: attention, need, satisfaction, visualization, and action. The attention stage is where you get the interviewee to listen to you. Can you give some examples of how you would do this in a counseling session?
