Assignment: Assessing Clients
Select two clients you observed or counseled this week during a family therapy session. Note: The two clients you select must have attended the same family session.
Then, address in your Practicum Journal the following:
i. Describe each client (without violating HIPAA regulations) and identify any pertinent history or medical information, including prescribed medications.
ii. Using the DSM-5, explain and justify your diagnosis for each client.
iii. Explain whether solution-focused or cognitive behavioral therapy would be more effective with this family. Include expected outcomes based on these therapeutic approaches.
iv. Explain any legal and/or ethical implications related to counseling each client.
v. Support your approach with evidence-based literature.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
