Explain Adverse Effects of Caspofungin
Although generally well tolerated, caspofungin occasionally causes rash, fever and mild hepatic toxicity (Medical Letter 2001; 43:58). Anaphylaxis has occurred. Dosage should be reduced in patients with moderate hepatic dysfunction. Liver function tests should be monitored in patients taking cyclosporine with caspo- fungin.
