Simple reply to this in positive way ...In this scenario, Adam and Ashley are both experiencing special health concerns and physical disabilities. To better help them get involved in the school setting, we need to provide them with an accessible classroom with an inclusive education setting. Firstly, according to the case, we learned that both Adam and Ashley's parents positively asked their children to join the normal school setting, however, they have different concerns about their children's condition. For children and their families, it is essential to have a collaborative strategy involving professionals from various knowledge domains working together as a team (Guelph Humber, 2024). We can create an open communication meeting between the educators and the parents to prepare any information or documents that could be helpful for the discussion, such as Ashley's medical reports, Adam's IEP plan, and notes from their previous teachers or therapists. Secondly, Adam and Ashley are both facing mobility challenges, so it is essential to ensure the classroom is accessible via a disabled lane. Additionally, installing an elevator in the building would help them to get to the higher floor. Adam and Ashley both need to carry special medical equipment daily and special medical support from a specialist. Ensuring trained staff are available to assist with their transition time and medical requirements is important. In the classroom, their medical equipment is easily accessible, and the classroom setting accommodates these needs. Thirdly, when children perceive their obligation in a relationship with teachers and other friends, their engagement significantly increases (Beninghof, 2021). We can use adaptive learning materials and technology to support their cognitive skills and allow them to engage fully with the curriculum. Adam can only attend 3 mornings a week in the classroom. Implementing an online classroom device at Adam's home would help him join the classroom activities with other children for the rest of the school time. Children with neurological disabilities benefit from therapeutic interventions and various music or art activities (Guelph Humber, 2024). The school may consider inviting therapists with those backgrounds to support Adam and Ashley periodically to become part of the program. In that way, we can build a tight relationship between children and the program to raise their participation in the classroom.
