Experiencing and teaching the performing arts

Assignment task:

How can you respond to this discussion: CONCEPTS The concepts and ideas about experiencing and teaching the performing arts using elements, fundamentals, and techniques. The techniques of theatre, dance and music are essential to create the performance of a lifetime. Being able to bring a performance of a lifetime one must know the history around a performance and build knowledge by examining different diverse cultural traditions and genres. As well as being able to connect with the part of any performance to reach the audience. The concept of knowledge and being able to use elements, fundamentals, and techniques to create a beautiful performance through emotions and passion. This allows students to explore their own emotions, creativity, and help find themselves through performing arts. As well as appreciation, understanding, and self-expression. Assessments can also promote learning through self-reflection and feedback. This is also an important concept when it comes to teaching performing arts. • CONNECTIONS The connection I have made between the course content and my own life as well as my teaching practice is that everything must be taken by trial and error to grow. The connections within the elements, techniques, assessments, and fundamentals all come together within my life and my teaching practices. Everything requires you to learn to teach it and learn from it as well. This goes by all aspects within this course, my life, and my teaching practice. This course content allows us to connect with others through self-expression and emotion. I was able to see what other perspectives saw and understood through my peers. "The arts allow us to share ideas, skills, and experiences in a way that cultivates lasting connections critical to building these relationships," (Bell, 2024). As well as appreciating the different types of genres, history, and diverse cultures. • CHANGES The concept from the course that has changed my thoughts about the value and power of the performing arts is the hard-working effort that is put into a performance. The elements, fundamentals, and techniques that must be studied and known to pick the correct ones to give the performance of a lifetime. I never thought of the elements or techniques that had to be used to create art. The experiences through performing arts being able to help support students in much higher and greater ways such as social-emotional. An example would be the boost in confidence, self-esteem, creativity, having a voice, and engaging in school. Performing arts also has the power in self-expression, communication skills, critical thinking skills, and collaboration with others. There is so much more value and the power of performing arts, it is a way of creating ideas, understanding, and knowledge.
