Description:
Attend an exhibition at an art gallery or art museum in Washington, DC. Write a thoughtful 2-3 page essay in response to the exhibition. You can respond to the exhibition itself or to a specific aspect of the exhibit (for example, an individual artist or a recurring theme).
Questions to consider (these are suggestions)
– Is there a central theme to the show? How do the individual artworks support that theme?
– What types of mediums are showcased? How do the different types of media work well together or is there a sense of discord? How might this effect the viewer’s perception of he museum, the how’s theme, or artworks?
– How does the exhibition design and layout effect the viewer’s experience of the show? (Consider how viewer’s walk through the space, the lighting, labels, etc…?
Your response should be 2-3 page, typed, double-spaced, and no more than 12 pt font.
