Examples of misused modifiers
A) A huge giant (Giants by definition are huge; the adjective adds nothing.)
B) very terrifying (Does "very" increase the impact of "terrifying"? Actually, because "terrifying" is such a strong word on its own, the modifier dilutes its power.)
C) Extraordinarily happy (If you need this adverb, perhaps the adjective itself isn't strong enough. Why not replace the whole phrase with the word "ecstatic"?)
