Problem:
At the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak in 2020, many Alabamians refused to wear masks. They grumbled and believed, "People shouldn't wear masks. They just need to wash their hands and this virus will go away!" However, when these same Alabamians went out in public without masks, they found that most people were actually wearing masks. Was this belief by those maskless Alabamians an example of the false uniqueness effect or the false consensus effect? Explain.
