Assignment task: First, watch the video-recorded lesson - What Sound does this Make? and take notes on specific actions taken by the mentee, the individual lesson, strengths, and areas of improvement.

Next, determine what format you will use to  the action plan. Examples include (but are not limited to): document with headings or chart/table in a document or slide.

Lastly, page action plans that:

1. Describes one moment during the video (video clip) that went well to help motivate the mentee.

2. Discusses the mentee's strengths, practices that should be repeated, and other positive aspects of the activity.

3. Examines areas for improvement, including

4. Identifies at least one modification to the activity (procedure or materials) to accommodate children's varying needs.

5. Identifies at least one modification to the learning environment to improve children's learning.

6. Identifies at least two improvements in performance (e.g., using positive language, engaging children, and addressing children's varying behaviors and responses).

7. Recommends a specific professional development opportunity, event, or activity with details on improving the mentee's performance.

8. Discusses the benefits of reflective practice for children and families and how reflection can help the mentee develop their excellence in teaching.
