Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Project Prepared written report to submit (PowerPoint, excel). Select a city or state CAFR and complete the following:
1. Comparison of Statement of Activities. a. Locate the government wide statement of activities in the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) you selected, is the statement presented in landscape format, across two pages without rows labels for the second page, and do they follow the alternative format present in your book? Which presentation method do you prefer? Why?
2. Business-Type Activities. Examine the government-wide statement of activities in the CAFR for the city or state you selected. Does it have a positive amount of profit in total business type activities? Does any of the business type activities show a loss? Provide a rationale from the perspective of the city or state manager as to why the city or state plans to continue engaging in a business type activity that is not profitable.
3. What kind of proprietary funds does the city or state have? How many internal service funds and how many are enterprise funds? List the individual funds that comprise internal service funds and proprietary funds by using the Proprietary Funds statement of net position column headings, and Note 1 to the basic financial statements.
4.What are some of the basic demographics factors for the city or state that you selected.
