Examine the five major barriers (overemphasizing personal goals, protecting your public image, Turning competitors into enemies, going in alone, and waiting for permission.) that leaders unintentionally impose upon themselves to keep them from being the best leaders that they can be. Discuss how you do or do not see each of these playing a role in your personal leadership practices, citing the details of each barrier and giving personal examples to help others to understand how you have avoided the barrier or been hindered by it.
