Assignment: Supply Chain Structure
Implementing supply chain management processes and evaluating each step of the production process from start to finish can improve the overall operations of an organization. By examining the links between each process, supply chain managers can identify weak areas within the supply chain network and find ways to develop and improve processes to achieve the highest quality for the lowest cost.
To complete this Activity, you should begin to think about how supply chain management networks function in your current organisation or in an organisation with which you are familiar. You will apply the information of this unit and begin assessing real operational challenges that supply chain managers and their organisations are currently facing.
To prepare for this Shared Activity:
o Review the required reading and media selections for this unit.
o Consider how your own organisation, or one with which you are familiar, has been impacted by supply chain management, the structure and flow of the supply chain network, and the stakeholders involved in these processes.
To complete this Shared Activity:
i. Post a reflection about the flow and structure of supply chain management networks in your organisation. Be sure to identify the major stakeholders and their roles in the supply chain management system and include them in your reflection.
ii. Examine and share two current challenges that your organisation is facing with regard to the operation of its supply chain network. Analyse the effects these challenges are having and how they could potentially impede the supply chain network processes. Remember that you should never disclose any confidential information about your organisation.
iii. Support your post using references to your own experiences and the relevant literature. Provide citations, as necessary, in Harvard Referencing Style.
Format your assignment according to the give formatting requirements:
a. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
