Activity Homework: Funding Research

Different forms of revenue and expenditure types are common in K-12 and institutions of higher education funding. With budget shortfalls becoming routine, it can be challenging to strike the right financial balance in schools and institutions of higher education. In this activity, you will research a local K-12 or community college financial budget, locating the primary funding sources. Then you will propose recommended changes to the budget.
Instructions
Write 1 to 2 pages paper in which you:
i. Examine a local school district or community college budget.
ii. Become familiar with your local school district or community college budget process by searching their respective website for budget information.
iii. If you are unable to locate this information, contact your local school district or community college for budget information.
iv. Determine where the funding originates from. What percentage is from federal, state, or local taxes?
v. Recommend changes to your K-12 school or institution of higher education's revenue stream to strengthen its financial position.
vi. Explain changes you would propose.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
