Review the origins of the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its evolution, as discussed in the Unit 1 and Unit 2 readings. Describe the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the development of the DHS. Discuss how the DHS has continued to evolve since its establishment. Finally, provide three recommendations for continued improvement specific to homeland security efforts within the DHS.
