A horizontal bar of lenght L, mass M, and resistance R is free to slide without friction down along the vertical rails of a conducting frame of neglibigle resistance (see the figure below). A uniform margetic field B is present throughout the region of the frame, and is directed perpendicular to the frame, into the paper.

a. If the initial velocity of the moving bar is Vo, find the magnitude of the initial current flowing through the bar.

b. Which direction does the current flow though the bar? Explain your answer.

c. Eventually the magnetic force on the bar due to the induced current exactly balances the weight (Mg) of the bar, and the acceleration of the bar becomes zero. After that point, the bar continues to fall with a constant, terminal, velocity. Determine this terminal velocity.
