Evaluation criteria for a service provider and vendor


Evaluation criteria should be set in the planning phase of a project, and vendors should be aware of what these targets are during the proposal stage so that they can either (1) place a cost for the expected level of performance as part of their bid and/or (2) be fully aware, prior to signing a contract, the standards they will be held liable for. One might argue that defining evaluation criteria are much easier if the seller is producing a good rather than a service.
