Evaluate travel distance solving the equation


The 50kg crate is hoisted up the 30 degree incline by the pulley system and motor M. Crate started from rest and reached 4m/s speed point B after traveling distance S. When crate reached point B, input power of motor Pinp is measured to be 800Nm/s. The efficiency of the motor is known to be e=0.8.

The friction coefficient between crate and slope is measured to be m= 0.1.

Find out the travel distance S by answering following questions.

1)What is the output power Pout of motor at the instance that crate reach B?

2)Pout can be also evaluated by Pout = F.V . What are F and V in this case? Also find their magnitude.

3)Draw Free Body Diagram of the crate.

4)Set up one equation that relates information measured at starting point A and ending point B.

5)Evaluate travel distance S solving the equation from 4).
