Susan and Juan work for the same company. They are close friends, and they share an apartment. They are both outgoing and love to go out on a Wednesday evening, which results in both being late on Thursdays for work. Their employer, Thabo, has seen them coming late on numerous occasions and have not bothered to address them about it until about six months later when he came screaming at them in front of other staff members and threatened to fire them. He was so angry and said that their performance for the year has not been satisfactory and that he will deduct money from their salaries for every day they have been late. He further went on to say that they were lazy, and not serious about their work. They felt that Thabo embarrassed them in front of their colleagues. Later that day he served them with a final written warning.
Question: Critically evaluate the disciplinary action taken by Thabo. Argue whether or not his actions/behaviour as the employer is justified?
