Introduction

The roadmap for implementation of a new ERP system at Whirlpool Corporation is aimed at consolidating its 22 geographical business units into a single unit operation that will reduce the costs incurred in undertaking its activities. A Mineola based Lightstone Group will provide the funding of Resource in Motion management System (RIMMS) that will aid in the coordination and management of the Corporation's appliance technicians in the different hubs, which will improve the company's efficiency.

The system will also assist in quick pricing and ordering update in the system to provide clients with information that is correct. Whirlpool organization however quickly went live with the SAP system implementation despite warnings being given by the SAP official before going live. But these warnings were ignored since the company wanted to take advantage of the long labour holiday to implement the system. This had an adverse effect on the operations of the company since some items to be shipped were delayed for long periods which made the company lose customers to other competing firms.
