Discussion Post: Evidence Based Practice
• Describe a clinical situation where you were concerned (e.g., a higher incidence of falls, infections, errors, etc.) and where decisions were made to improve the situation. What sources of evidence were utilized to make the decision (e.g., personal experience, expert advice, etc.)?
• If you have been in the health care setting whether it is with visiting or working, have you observed a practice which you think could be completed in a more efficient way? Did you see a practice which was not followed per guidelines? What was your impression?
• Examine the sources of knowledge that contribute to professional nursing.
• Evaluate published nursing research for credibility and clinical significance related to evidence-based practice
• Recognize the role of research findings in evidence-based practice.
