Introduction
As a public health professional, it is vital to remain up-to-date on current disease trends and to be informed of new strategies and tools for preventing, surveying, and controlling disease. What tools do public health officials use to prevent the reemergence of diseases? What strategies can be employed to prevent and control the spread of new diseases?
In this final week of the course, you explore trends in human disease, including diseases that are emerging and reemerging. You consider the roles of-and partnerships between-local, state, federal, international, and nongovernmental agencies and organizations with regard to public health and the control of disease. Also, you examine the three levels of prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and how each level promotes wellness and mitigates future health issues.
