Project 2: Intelligence Led Problem Solving
Given correct/corrected intelligence reports and subsequent action plans, the student will critique the responsiveness of the problem solving strategy.
Assignment Instructions: In this assignment, you are shifting roles. You are now the police chief of the Big City. After the police commander (your subordinate) for the Western District provided feedback on the intelligence reporting, the intelligence section provided newly revised intelligence reports. Based on those revised reports, the police commander has developed an operational plan to address the threat and problems.
As the police chief, you are to review the plan using the grading rubric for this assignment.
Evaluate how the plan uses the various police decision making and problem solving strategies such as intelligence led policing, problem-oriented policing, and communityoriented policing,
Evaluate whether the plan proposes an efficient use of police resources.
Evaluate whether the plan sufficiently addresses information sharing and collaboration with federal, state, or other local law enforcement agencies.
Evaluate the plan for the possibility of potential civil liberty or civil rights issues.
