Evaluate a manufacturing queuing problem

Discuss the below:

Q1. You are asked to evaluate a manufacturing queuing problem. The higher priced mechanics always seem to be waiting on the lower priced tool crib clerks for necessary parts. The mechanics, at $20.00 per hour wage, arrive randomly at the tool crib every 5 minutes. It takes the tool crib clerk, at $10.00 per hour wage, an average of 4 minutes to find the part and record the supply transaction. There is only one tool crib and one clerk. You are asked if it would cut down on total idle costs (idle time costs for the mechanics and the clerks) if they add a second tool crib clerk. Determine the idle time costs for each alternative, and make a recommendation. Note idle costs are the $value for the clerks for the time they are idle ad the mechanics costs for the queue time they are waiting. Do this for each option and make a selection.

Q2. You are asked if you should run a simulation to help answer the question. What is your answer and why?
