Assignment task: Home Visits
Choose from the list of scenarios (choose 2) and discuss the home visitor/teacher's role in these situations.
1. A mother is fearful that her husband may be awakened from sleep. He's a third-shift worker.
2. A child begins to "show off." The mother is embarrassed.
3. A mother begins talking very negatively about her child's behavior as her child sits in the same room.
4. A mother appears very shy (virtually inarticulate).
5. The parents keep watching a TV program after a teacher sits down.
6. The parents seem very ill at ease. They keep asking if their child is being "bad."
