The critical essay encourages the application of cognitive and biological psychology theory to specific areas of cognitive and biological psychological research.
Essays should demonstrate:
1. Understanding of key theories relating to cognitive and/or biological psychology.
2. Critical evaluation of the theories discussed.
3. Use of up-to-date research to support points made, including critical evaluation of the conclusions and methodology of the research.

5. The development of a clear and reasoned argument throughout, including appropriate academic expression of ideas.
