Question 1. In the last several decades, American higher education has experienced large and consistent annual increases in tuition and fees at both public and private institutions. Write an essay on the increasing costs of American Higher Education. In developing the essay, please address the following:
(1) From a historical perspective, how do you assess the scope of rising cost of higher education?
(2) Should we be concerned about the increasing cost? Discuss the impacts the increasing cost has had on our higher education.
(3) Given what you know about organization and governance of U.S higher education and about public policy in the U.S., what suggestions would you propose to policy-makers and higher education administrators to maintain affordability in higher education?
(4) Given the current state of knowledge and research in this area, what research would you suggest that scholars should undertake to address the challenge of maintaining affordability in the face of increasing college pricesin the future?
