BEHAVIORAL EMERGENCIES ASSIGNMENT
The instructions for this assignment indicate the need to define the behavioral disorders, and discus.. EMS management of each orthe patients. Assignments are frequently turned in with very little discussion related to EM5 management of the patients.
When discussing DAS management of these patients the following items should be discussed:
1. Scene Safety.
2. Ilse of other disciplines for assistance (law enforcemenCCIT, negotiators, etc).
3. Potential medical issues that patients may have that mimic or exacerbate the behavioral issues.
4. Alternate transport destinations (Behavioral health facilities, clinics, private offices etc.).
5. Potential medical issues that Me patient may have because of the behavioral disorder and appropriate levels of care to provide.
