Emotions-attitudes have strong influence on how people learn

Emotions and attitudes have a strong influence on how people learn and behave. When individuals experience positive emotions such as curiosity, motivation, or confidence, they are more likely to stay engaged in learning and retain new information. On the other hand, negative emotions such as stress, fear, or frustration can make learning more difficult and may cause people to avoid certain tasks or situations. Attitudes also shape how a person approaches learning. For example, someone who believes they are capable of learning new skills will often try harder and persist through challenges. In contrast, someone with a negative attitude about their abilities may give up quickly. According to research in Educational Psychology, emotions and attitudes play a key role in shaping motivation, focus, and overall learning outcomes. Behavior and learning are closely connected because learning often leads to changes in behavior. When people learn something new, they may adjust how they act based on that knowledge or experience. For example, after learning about the importance of time management, a student might start organizing their schedule more effectively to complete assignments on time. This shows how learning directly influences behavior. In my own life, learning about effective study strategies has changed the way I prepare for schoolwork. Instead of waiting until the last minute, I now plan ahead and break assignments into smaller tasks. This improves both my behavior and academic performance. Need Assignment Help?

One example from this week's resources relates to B. F. Skinner, who explained that behavior can be shaped through reinforcement. His theory of Operant Conditioning shows that positive outcomes encourage repeated behaviors, demonstrating how learning experiences influence how people behave over time.
