Discussion

I think we can all agree that the worst criminal justice FAIL is executing an innocent man. (Fail is too mild of a word.) Yet, that is just what happens with some frequency, and happened to Dr. Hawley Crippen for the 1910 conviction of murdering his wife.

Part 3

Respond to the following student:

Discussion

She was sentenced to 15 months which in my opinion isn't enough time. She didn't physically do anything to the boyfriend but all those 40 messages encouraging him to kill himself was enough to convict her. Her actions rose to the level of homicide because she literally was encouraging the guy to kill himself instead of letting an adult know about the situation. This case is kind of tricky because Michelle head wasn't all the way there either. She had depression problems too and had a eating disorder. Instead of encouraging him to die she should of got him help. According to the text messages, at the beginning she was talking him out of the suicidal mindset but out of nowhere she was doing the opposite. Which in my opinion that brings up a red flag. 15 months isn't enough time and she should get some psychiatry help.
