Electrical circuits and systems:
Electrical systems allow energy to be conveniently delivered from the point of supply to the point of application - e.g. electric railways, car electrical systems, the 'more electric aircraft'.
- Electrical systems are easily monitored and controlled - e.g. car engine management systems.
- Electrical systems offer increased efficiency -e.g. electric hybrid cars.
- Electrical systems offer remote sensing by radio transmission of data - e.g. satellites, deep space probes, remotely piloted vehicles.
- All these mean that engineers need to have a basic understanding of electrical systems
