Like any other cell, all the eggs are covered by the cell membrane or plasmalemma It is with two layers of about 50 A? (unit membrane) separated by a gap of 60 A?. In addition to plasmalemma, the eggs of practically all animals are surrounded by special egg envelopes (or egg membranes).
