Problem:
If benchmarking is a means designed to compare overall best practices in an effort to improve an organizations Total Quality Management, how can that be a bad thing? The only thing that comes to mind is the fact that the markets are ever changing. If an organization is heavily utilizing the benchmarking technique they better be rechecking the sources periodically to make sure that things have not changed, and if they have changed the organization needs to be flexible enough to move quickly to adapt.
