Effects of screen time and kids developmental health

Problem:

Respond to this discussion. The research article I found did their study on the effects of screen time and kids developmental health. The study was set in British Columbia, Canada. Kids ages 3-5 years old were used in the study but mainly kids that entered kindergarten in 2019. The study focused on how screen time would affect the kids based on how long their screen time was and how their development was affected. The data they used was collected through parent/teacher reports and a questionnaire. They also used the five developmental domains to see where kids were being affected. (Five developmental domains consist of Physical health and well being, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive development, and communication skills.) The data showed that kids who were getting more than one hour of screen time were more vulnerable to the five developmental domains. At the end of the study the researchers concluded that kids who watched over one hour of screen time or screen related activities were showing more signs of negative effects to their development. Kids who only had one hour of screen time weren't as affected. Researchers found that kids in the early childhood age (Ages 3-5) should be limited on how much screen activity they get.
