Effectiveness of the hormone therapy

About 870 men took part in the study to study the effectiveness of the hormone therapy. Half of the men were chosen randomly to come in and get the hormone therapy while the other half were told to stay home and thus didn't receive the therapy. After about a year, blood tests were conducted on each and every subject by a lab technician who was aware of which group (treatment or those given nothing) the blood samples originated from. In presenting the results of the experiment, the authors reported that men in the treatment group had experienced a statistically important raise in HDL (the so-called "good" cholesterol) and the statistically significant reduction in LDL (the so-called "bad" cholesterol) when compared with control group.
