Effectiveness of company mission-vision statement


I need some help answering questions about case studies on company direction:

Task 1. "Company Direction" Please respond to the following:

a). Consider the company where you currently work, have worked in the past, or patronize on a regular basis. Evaluate the effectiveness of the company's mission and vision statement, and provide an example of how the mission is carried out in your interaction with the company.

Mission Statement: Tropical Financial Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, providing member-owners with valuable products, services and education to help them achieve their financial goals.

Our mission statement is carried out daily within our company. We serve the community and the members of our credit union. Before I was employed with Tropical Financial I learned I was more than just another number walking in the door. The staff took the time to know my name and talk with me. I knew I could call anytime after hours and they would answer because they gave out their personal cell phone numbers. It is a friendly staff that wants to guide their members in the right direction. I have sent numerous friends to Tropical Financial and they always leave with a happy experience. If Tropical Financial cannot help them they give them other resources to look into and check out. This is one of the companies I see follows through daily with their mission statement. We have training sessions on how to better serve the community and as an employee I can honestly say I am happy to work where I work, I enjoy going to work.

b). Evaluate whether or not the mission and vision has been adequately communicated to employees and customers. Provide examples of support or lack of evidence.

I do believe this mission is adequately communication with employees. We have many employee training sessions regarding the company and this allows HR to reiterate the mission statement and work with employees to keep up with the standards of Tropical Financial. I know from experience, if a customer has a bad experience it is asked that the manager know so they can deal with the situation, like many things if someone doesn't know, they cannot fix a situation. I work in the corporate office and when I visit the branches, I see the smiles on customers as they come in, I see the conversations of how is your family and kids and I see each member being treated like family. The employees take their time talk with and explain options to members and work to give them solutions that fit their needs.
