The coordination between various business functions of an organization is crucial for its success. Many of the quality gaps occur because of a lack of coordination between two or more business functions. The effect of coordination between the marketing function and the operations management function of a certain organization could have a big impact on quality.

Write an essay to explain the following:

• The role of the marketing function and the operations management function of an organization.

• The nature of the quality conflicts that could arise because of a lack of coordination between the two business functions. Explain in terms of actual quality, customers’ expectation, customer satisfaction and/or dissatisfaction.

• The importance of coordination between the two business functions.
