Researchers want to determine the effect of alcohol on the development of the hippocampal region in adolescents. The researchers randomly chosen 13 adolescents with alcohol employ disorders. They wanted to find out whether the hippocampal volumes in alcoholic adolescents were less than normal volume of 9.02cm 3 (this must be 9.03 cm to the third power). An analysis of sample data revealed that the hippocampal volume is approximately normal with X- (this should be x with a line over it) = 8.49 and s = 0.06.
