Q2. Mathematically prove that symmetrically distributed 2-phase and 3-phase supply generate rotating magnetic field.

Q3. Two generators with unequal no load frequencies and slopes are operating in parallel to supply a load. Show the house diagrams for the following conditions

(i) If the generator 1 setting remains constant, how the generator 2 setting should be changed to supply an increased load requirement without changing the system frequency?

(ii) How the two generator settings should be changed if generator 2 wants to share more load than generator 1? Assume that the total load requirement and system frequency are constant.

Q4. For the power system as shown in the figure, calculate the following parameters

(i) Complex power and power factor of the generators (i.e. infinite bus) with SW open.

(ii) Complex power and power factor of the generators (i.e. infinite bus) with SW closed.

(iii) Compare the line loss improvement for the cases (i) and (ii).
