There are many theories regarding the delivery of curriculum to young children. Even with these varying opinions all ECE teachers agree that it is necessary to teach the whole child. Following early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practice, choose one of the following Early Childhood Curriculum Content approaches teaching style; The Unit of Thematic Approach (Helm & Katz 2001: Jones & Nimmo 1994), The Development Interaction, or Bank Street, Approach (Biber, 1984, Mitchell & David 1992), Emergent Curriculum (Jones & Nimmo 1994), The Reggio Emilia Approach (Jipson & Johnson 2000), or The Project Approach (Helm & Katz 2001: Katz & Chard 2000), and explain why you chose that style of approach to teach.
